Our Story
In the midst of a six-month struggle with suicidal depression, founder Adam Amrod received an unexpected lifeline when a dear friend offered him her spot at an intensive three-week plant medicine retreat in Maui.
In the second week, Adam was required to observe seven days of silence. During this time is when the vision for the not-yet named Space Cannon blossomed.
Following the retreat, Adam returned to Brooklyn, NY with a renewed zest for life. Overflowing with excitement about the Space Cannon project, he couldn't wait to dive into drawing out the design.
Our Journey
Three years after the plant medicine retreat, Adam Amrod struggled bringing the Space Cannon to market, reigniting suicidal thoughts.
This time, Adam seeked guidance from a higher power & turned to prayer. This led to him to pick up his old yoga practice & on a Saturday morning after a gratitude meditation, he received a strong intuition to consume concentrates before starting his routine.
In the past, Adam restricted cannabis use to social settings like music festivals due to concerns of dependency and the potential negative impact on his productivity.
However, concentrates did the complete opposite – The once mundane 25-minute yoga routine transformed into an enjoyable 90-minute free-flow.
Ultimately, Adam embraced cannabis as a crucial tool to navigate daily mental health struggles with a newfound sense of well-being, leading to improved relationships, and providing him the strength to turn the Space Cannon dream into a reality.
Our Mission
Beyond the Space Cannon project, founder Adam Amrod aspires to connect fellow veterans with holistic alternatives to prescription medication, whose dangerous side-effects can often lead to suicide.
As of 2021, post-9/11 conflicts have resulted in the loss of 7,057 our service members. In contrast, a staggering 30,177 veterans lost their lives to suicide during the same 20 year span.
As part of our commitment to help veterans struggling with mental illness, a portion of our proceeds is directed towards the Balanced Veterans Network - a non-profit organization connecting veterans to life-saving alternative therapies.
“A lot of us veterans have successfully used BVN’s holistic approach to overcome unhealthy addictions and suicidal depression”
